Domus Arte's distinctive 2-hour Tile Workshop is an immersive journey into the heart of Portuguese heritage. In this workshop, you can experience the classic tile technique on 15cm x 15cm fired glass. We guarantee a quick and lasting result, always focused on the satisfaction of those who trust us.

We are pet-friendly, and we invite your furry friends to join in the fun. At Domus Arte, we don't just offer an art workshop, we provide a cultural and creative adventure tailored to your preferences.

Available from monday to saturday at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and on sundays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (Timezone: Europe/Lisbon). The Tile Painting Workshop in Downtown Porto is provided in English.

Due to limited space, additional individuals who were not included in your booking may be present at the workshop. In this way, you will experience Portuguese culture and cross paths with others in a real exchange of experiences. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Workshop program

Program:

- A brief introduction to the history of tiles in Portugal and Porto;
- Tiling techniques/Importance of Majolica;
- Simulation of tile painting to your liking or with a drawing of a traditional Porto tile.

➡️ In their creative experience, each participant will have the opportunity to paint a tile, choosing from a variety of pre-designed replicas of traditional Porto tiles, while giving free rein to their imagination and inventive/creative spirit.
The piece will be ready for pick-up 2 hours after the end of the workshop.

Location

The workshop takes place on the ground floor of Domus Arte, at Rua da Bainharia, n.º 135, Porto, a space entirely dedicated to workshops and art exhibitions.

A Perfect Bridal Shower Soirée

My best girl got married in Porto, and I wanted to do something different for her bridal shower, something memorable and a little out of the ordinary. This tile painting workshop turned out to be the perfect choice.

Our hosts (I wish I could remember their names!), a lovely young lady and gentleman were incredibly patient and kind. They walked us through the history of Portuguese tile painting, helped us choose our stencils, and guided us with so much care and enthusiasm the entire time.

We were a group of 15 girls, and everyone had the best time channeling their inner artist. From booking the workshop to finalizing the location, every detail was seamless. The hosts were so accommodating even when we were running late (wrangling 15 girls is no small feat!). They also created such a warm space for us to celebrate our beautiful bride-to-be.

If you’re considering this workshop, especially with a big group, it’s a solid yes from me. It’s fun, creative, and truly one of the most memorable experiences we had in Porto.

A fabulous time

My family and I had a fabulous time at the tile painting. We were a little late but welcomed and quickly helped to get up to speed. Our teacher was lovely, gave very clear instructions and interesting information about tile painting and it's history. We all came away with great tiles even though we all had zero skills to begin with. Would definitely recommend!
